Welcome to Madagascar. On arrival at Ivato International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your national accompanying guide and transferred to your hotel in Antananarivo.

The day is kept relaxed after the international flight. A short briefing can be arranged to introduce the wildlife route, domestic flight logistics, park visits and walking rhythm.

Accommodation: Relais des Plateaux, Palissandre Hotel, San Cristobal Boutique Hotel, or similar

After breakfast, begin the journey toward Ankarafantsika National Park by domestic-flight-supported routing or road connection according to the confirmed program.

On arrival, settle into the lodge and enjoy the dry deciduous forest atmosphere. If timing allows, a short first walk can be arranged around the park or lodge area.

Accommodation: Ecolodge Poséidon, or similar

Start early for birdwatching and wildlife exploration in Ankarafantsika, one of Madagascar’s most important dry forest parks.

With a local guide, search for Coquerel’s sifaka, mongoose lemur, common brown lemur, couas, vangas, asities, raptors, reptiles and lake birds depending on the chosen circuit.

Accommodation: Ecolodge Poséidon, or similar

After breakfast, leave Ankarafantsika and return to Antananarivo first. From Tana, continue onward to Morondava, gateway to western Madagascar and baobab country.

On arrival in Morondava, transfer to the hotel and check in before heading to the Avenue of the Baobabs for sunset. This gives the day a clear travel rhythm: Ankarafantsika → Antananarivo → Morondava → Baobab Avenue.

Accommodation: Palissandre Côte Ouest, Laguna Beach, or similar

After breakfast, drive to Kirindy Forest through western villages, dry landscapes and baobab scenery.

Kirindy is a key dry-forest wildlife site, known for Verreaux’s sifaka, red-fronted brown lemur, reptiles, birds and possible fossa signs. In the evening, enjoy a guided night walk for mouse lemurs, geckos, chameleons, insects and night birds.

Accommodation: Relais du Kirindy, or similar

Begin with an early guided walk in Kirindy Forest, when wildlife activity is usually better.

The local guide will search for lemurs, birds, reptiles and dry forest species. Later, return to Morondava for a relaxed evening by the coast or at the hotel.

Accommodation: Palissandre Côte Ouest, Laguna Beach, or similar

After breakfast, transfer to Morondava Airport for the domestic flight to Antananarivo, then continue by road to Antsirabe.

The scenery changes from capital surroundings to highland rice fields, brick houses and terraced hills. Arrive in Antsirabe and settle into the cool highland atmosphere.

Accommodation: Couleur Café, Plumeria Hotel Antsirabe, Eco Lodge Les Chambres du Voyageur, or similar

Continue south through the central highlands, with rice terraces, markets, villages and mountain scenery.

Stop in Ambositra for woodcarving and craft culture before continuing to Ranomafana. The landscape becomes greener and more humid as you approach the rainforest.

Accommodation: Setam Lodge, Thermal Hotel, Centrest Séjour, or similar

Start early for a guided rainforest visit in Ranomafana National Park, a major biodiversity hotspot.

With a local guide, search for Golden Bamboo Lemur, red-bellied lemur, Milne-Edwards’ sifaka, rainforest birds, frogs, chameleons, orchids and tropical plants. The walk can be adapted to the group’s fitness.

Accommodation: Setam Lodge, Thermal Hotel, Centrest Séjour, or similar

After breakfast, travel south through Fianarantsoa and Ambalavao toward Anja Community Reserve.

Visit Anja for ring-tailed lemurs among granite boulders and forest pockets, then continue across the Horombe Plateau to Ranohira. If timing allows, enjoy sunset near the Window of Isalo.

Accommodation: Isalo Rock Lodge, Jardin du Roy, Relais de la Reine, Satrana Lodge, or similar

Today is dedicated to Isalo National Park, famous for sandstone massifs, canyons, natural pools and dry forest.

With a local guide, explore a circuit according to guest fitness and interest. Possible wildlife includes ring-tailed lemurs, sifakas, birds, reptiles and dry-country plants.

Accommodation: Isalo Rock Lodge, Jardin du Roy, Relais de la Reine, Satrana Lodge, or similar

After breakfast, drive southwest toward Tulear through Ilakaka, dry southern landscapes and village scenery.

Depending on the confirmed program, a nature stop such as Zombitse can be added. Arrive in Tulear and rest before the remote southern section.

Accommodation: Hotel Chez Alain, Hotel Moringa Tulear, or similar

Depart toward Tsimanampetsotsa National Park, passing dry coastal scenery, spiny vegetation, villages and sandy tracks.

On arrival, settle into the lodge or camp. Depending on timing, begin a first exploration of the lake, limestone, spiny forest or surrounding area.

Accommodation: Hotel Ambola, or best available lodge near Tsimanampetsotsa

Explore Tsimanampetsotsa with a local guide. This unusual park combines a saline lake, spiny forest, limestone, caves and southern wildlife.

Possible highlights include flamingos, water birds, radiated tortoises, ring-tailed lemurs, reptiles, dry-country birds and unique plants such as euphorbias and Didieraceae.

Accommodation: Hotel Ambola, or best available lodge near Tsimanampetsotsa

After breakfast, enjoy a final short look at the southern landscape if timing allows, then return toward Tulear.

The drive gives another view of the spiny forest, sandy tracks and coastal villages. On arrival, check in and rest before the final flight day.

Accommodation: Hotel Chez Alain, Hotel Moringa Tulear, or similar

Transfer to Tulear Airport for the domestic flight to Antananarivo according to the flight schedule.

If the international flight is late enough, connect onward the same day. If schedules are tight, an extra overnight in Antananarivo is recommended for safety. The tour ends after a complete wildlife journey through Madagascar's dry forest, rainforest, spiny forest and lake habitats.

Accommodation: Day-use or extra overnight in Antananarivo can be arranged if required
