Welcome to Madagascar. On arrival at Ivato International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your national accompanying guide and transferred to your hotel in Antananarivo, locally known as Tana.
The rest of the day is kept relaxed after the international flight. Depending on arrival time, a short orientation, viewpoint visit, local market stop or first Malagasy dinner can be arranged before the western adventure begins.
Accommodation: Relais des Plateaux, Palissandre Hotel, or similar
After breakfast, transfer to Ivato International Airport for the domestic flight to Morondava, gateway to Madagascar's west coast and baobab country.
On arrival, meet the local team and transfer to the hotel. Depending on flight timing, enjoy free time by the coast, a short town discovery or a relaxed evening in Morondava.
Accommodation: Palissandre Côte Ouest, Chez Maggie, or similar
After breakfast, depart by private 4x4 toward Kirindy Forest. The road passes dry western landscapes, sandy tracks, villages and scattered baobab trees.
Stop at the famous Avenue of the Baobabs before continuing to Kirindy. In the evening, enjoy a guided night walk to search for mouse lemurs, fork-marked lemurs, chameleons, geckos and other nocturnal wildlife.
Accommodation: Relais du Kirindy, or similar
Begin with a guided morning visit in Kirindy Forest, one of western Madagascar's best dry-forest reserves. Your local guide will search for lemurs, birds, reptiles, dry-forest plants and possible signs of the fossa.
After the visit, continue north toward Bekopaka. The journey includes remote villages, baobab scenery, dirt roads and ferry crossings near Belo sur Tsiribihina before arriving at the gateway to Tsingy de Bemaraha.
Accommodation: Orchidée du Bemaraha, Olympe du Bemaraha, or similar
After breakfast, begin with the Manambolo Gorge river excursion by traditional pirogue. This peaceful journey offers beautiful views of limestone cliffs, caves, river reflections and riverside scenery near Bekopaka.
In the late morning, after the pirogue excursion, continue with the Small Tsingy. This shorter but beautiful limestone circuit gives another perspective on Bemaraha, with rock passages, viewpoints, dry forest and opportunities to observe local plants, birds and lemurs depending on the season.
The afternoon remains relaxed in Bekopaka after this first Tsingy discovery day.
Accommodation: Orchidée du Bemaraha, Olympe du Bemaraha, or similar
Today is dedicated to the Grand Tsingy, the most spectacular section of Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
With a local specialist guide, explore limestone pinnacles, narrow corridors, caves, dry forest pockets, suspension bridges and panoramic viewpoints. Some circuits may include ladders and harness-secured passages, making this one of the great adventure days of the tour.
After the visit, return to the lodge in Bekopaka and relax after the main Tsingy adventure.
Accommodation: Orchidée du Bemaraha, Olympe du Bemaraha, or similar
After breakfast, leave Bekopaka and drive back south toward Morondava through dirt roads, villages, ferry crossings and western dry landscapes.
In the late afternoon, stop again at the Avenue of the Baobabs for sunset. The golden light, giant silhouettes and local village life make this one of the most memorable moments of the journey before returning to Morondava.
Accommodation: Palissandre Côte Ouest, Chez Maggie, or similar
After breakfast, transfer to Morondava Airport for the domestic flight back to Antananarivo.
On arrival in the capital, transfer to the hotel. Depending on timing, the rest of the day can be used for rest, souvenir shopping, a short city visit or a farewell dinner.
Accommodation: Relais des Plateaux, Palissandre Hotel, or similar
After breakfast, transfer to Ivato International Airport for your international departure flight.
Depending on flight schedule, a final city stop, craft market visit, restaurant stop or day-use arrangement can be organized. The tour ends after a classic western Madagascar discovery through Morondava, the Avenue of the Baobabs, Kirindy Forest and Tsingy de Bemaraha.
